Quip Shed Comedy @ Ham Polo Club ft. Sean McLoughlin - Friday 14th July

Quip Shed Comedy is back at Ham Polo Club this summer, bringing the best comedic line-ups the UK has to offer!

For our July show, we have an incredible line-up featuring Ali Woods, Tom Elwes, Freya Mallard, host Lyle Barke, and our headliner Sean McLoughlin!

Our opener, Ali Woods, is a half-English, half-Scottish comedian, podcaster and content creator. Fresh off his first sold out show at the Edinburgh Fringe this year, Ali is a refreshing mix of the ‘every man’ and the ‘modern man’, whose sensitivity and genuine interest in men’s mental health gives him a great perspective on the modern ‘lad’ culture which often features in his comedy. Ali is that wonderful blend of comedy with a heart, speaking on topics such as football, the environment, and many social causes close to his heart.

Ali won Hackney Empire New Act of the Year 2020 and has appeared on BBC Radio 4, TalkRadio, TalkSport alongside hosting his own podcast ‘All I Do Is Fail’. His online comedy sketches under the tag @aliwoodsgigs have gained millions of views and likes, and featured on LadBible and Buzzfeed UK. Many of Ali’s followers found him after he supported Russell Kane on tour in 2022.

Tom Elwes is a stand-up comedian, writer and actor. As a life long Londoner, he uses a combination of storytelling and acute observations to make sense of his chaotic existence. He is a regular at the Top Secret Comedy Club and Vauxhall Comedy Club.

Tom has a strong online presence and now has 10s of thousands of followers on Instagram, TikTok, and facebook and his sketches have been viewed millions of times. He took a show Carpe DM to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2022 which had a sell out run.

He runs the weekly ‘All I Do Is Fail’ Podcast with fellow comedian Ali Woods. Previous guests include Dane Baptiste, Tony Law, Elf Lyons, Sadia Azmat, Ola the comedian, Uncle Ed.

Freya Mallard is an exciting, up and coming voice in standup comedy. She is erratically anxious and unadvisedly optimistic. Her silly, fun and slightly absurd take on feminism, dating makes her a delight to watch! A particularly uplifting and hilarious voice for young women of today.

The evening will be hosted by  LYLE BARKE
